  We take art off the wall and set it in motion with Tanuki ASAWA.
  Inspired by Ruth Asawa, whose works emerged through simple materials, craftsmanship, and tireless experimentation, this special edition combines organic forms with the light Wildling feeling. A shoe that doesn’t just make art visible, but carries it forward: make art move.

  The print is what makes the Tanuki Asawa special. To help keep it that way, please take a moment to read the care instructions.

  The Tanuki models came to life thanks to a unique coincidence and a heartfelt collaboration.

  Japanese washi paper has a tradition of more than a 1000 years, with a variety of uses. But it was only after Mr. Itoi and Wildling crossed paths that this magical fabric found its way into minimal footwear.

  Fibers from the Abaca plant are woven together using a special technique making the Tanuki model breathable and water permeable.

  The weave, together with the paper-textile properties, makes it the ideal shoe for warm conditions.

  At only 56-151g it's one of the lightest shoes in the world - giving an unprecedented feeling of freedom.

  Upper / Edging:
  Washi (ITOITEX – 75% paper, 25% polyester) – off-white with Asawa print

  Interior lining:
  Washi (ITOITEX – 75% paper, 25% polyester)

  Mid-sole:
  100% certified organically grown cotton

  Insole (removable):
  Hemp fleece (100% hemp)

  Outsole:
  Wildling outsoles are made of synthetic rubber (partially recycled), silica and natural rubber. Depending on the model, cork particles may be included. Color – off-white

• Fit

  Choose your normal size for a comfortable fit.

• Care

  Waterproofing before first-time wear

  This minimal shoe is water-permeable. Consequently, waterproofing is not necessary.

  Cleaning

  This Tanuki features a delicate print. To help preserve its colours and fine details, we recommend particularly gentle care.
  If the shoes get dirty, gently brush them clean when dry.
  If needed, wipe them carefully with a slightly damp cotton cloth.
  Avoid vigorous rubbing, brushing or prolonged storage in direct sunlight, as this may affect the colours and fine details of the print.
  The shoes can be washed by hand on low temperature. No machine wash. Do not use bleach.

  We recommend removing the insoles from the shoes after use for airing and to avoid moisture build-up.
  They can be carefully washed by hand. Allow to dry completely before putting them back. Not machine washable.

• Additional notes

  Every single shoe is a handmade one of a kind, with an upper made from natural material. The structure and coloration may exhibit minor irregularities.

  A hue appears different depending on the lighting conditions. That's why colors always look a little different on the screen, in artificial light at home, or outside in sunlight.

  When putting on, please note: Widen the opening of the shoe sufficiently by loosening the laces. This minimizes wear on the material and extends the life of the shoe.

  When using ride-on toys, we recommend additional protection against scuffing.
