With the Tanuki Niji you can nail your colors to the mast and still stride elegantly through the summer. The natural white Tanuki made of stretch washi has a little highlight: the left shoe features an embroidered rainbow flag.
This minimal shoe is ultra-light and – thanks to the unique washi fabric that’s 75% paper – is a real highlight for feet. Particularly in the summer we benefit from its anti-bacterial effects, its breathability and its ability to dry quickly. So the Tanuki’s also great for wearing barefoot.
Each individual shoe is a handmade unique specimen, its upper material consists of a natural material.
You may therefore find slight irregularities in texture and color.
Stretch washi (75% paper, 25% polyester) - natural
Lining / insole:
Washi (75% paper, 25% polyester)
Lunatur (80% EVA*, 20% walnut shells)
80% synthetic rubber with 50% recycled content, 20% cork;
2.5 mm (36 - 41) / 3.5 mm (42 - 48) - off-white
Contains no products of animal origin, water permeable
*Ethylene-vinyl acetate – orthopaedic closed-cell foam, tested for harmful substances and free from plasticisers
This minimal shoe is water-permeable, can be worn in water and dries very quickly. You therefore don't need to treat it with waterproofing spray.
Dirty shoes are best brushed carefully when dry or can be washed gently by hand. Not suitable for machine washing.
The insole is also washable and should be taken out for drying. It protects wild paws and the inside of the sole from wear and tear.
If this minimal shoe has been with you on any saltwater adventures, be sure to rinse it thoroughly afterwards with normal water.
A little bigger than usual due to the amazingly thin washi fabric. If you are between sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller of the two.
